The Item Setup Options control the behavior of certain system features related to field lengths of the Item Info text 3 and text 4 field length.

Item Options Fields -

Digits in Item ID	The number of digits in the item code. The required number of digits is eight and cannot be changed.
Digits in Item Info Text 3 Field	The field length of the Item Info Text 3 Field (zero to five).
Digits in Item Info Text 4 Field	The field length of the Item Info Text 4 Field (zero to five).
